Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Macedonia Organizes Summer School on Enhancing Regional Cooperation through Customs Modernization

An INCU Affiliate, the Faculty of Economics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia has organized a Summer School on enhancing regional cooperation through customs modernization, which was held from 8 to 13 August 2016 in Ohrid, Macedonia. The range of topics that were discussed during the sessions included global value chains and current trends of multinational strategies, future challenges that can be harnessed as opportunities for innovation and growth in customs, core principles of project management in customs, performance measurement techniques in customs and customs compliance management. Renowned academics and customs professionals delivered presentations on these and other topics and the participating students worked on case studies related to these issues during the program and presented their solutions to the case studies on the final day of the workshop. The summer school workshop was attended by more than thirty participants from several countries.

INCU President, Professor David Widdowson, also participated in this summer school and conducted a session on the topic of “Customs compliance management & an overview of the work of the Australian Customs Trusted Trader Program”.
