The following paper by Dr Mikhail Kashubsky, presented on Day 2 in “Customs-Academia Partnerships” Session at the Inaugural INCU Global Conference 2014 in Baku, provides an overview of the WCO recognition process, highlights some of the issues and challenges that may arise during the process from both an applicant’s and an assessor’s perspectives, offers clarification on certain aspects of the process and makes suggestions for improvement.
