From Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 February 2024 you are invited to attend the 15th Session of the Capacity Building Committee (CBC) of the World Customs Organization (WCO) under the theme “20 Years On – Sustaining Investment in Customs Capacity Building”.
The Meeting will be held in-person at WCO Headquarters in Brussels. An online link will also be provided, giving some delegates who are unable to travel to Brussels the possibility of observing the Meeting remotely via an online platform (no active participation will be possible remotely). Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English and French. There will also be simultaneous interpretation in Arabic, Spanish and Russian.
The strategic discussions on the topic will provide an opportunity for Members, beneficiaries of WCO capacity building support and partners that contribute to the WCO capacity building agenda to exchange views on the importance of sustaining investment in Customs capacity building by, inter alia, improving the processes for, and the approach to identifying and prioritizing core developmental needs, and by building and growing structured and mutually-beneficial relationships to address those needs. The session will also address the parameters of the revised CBC Work Programme for the next year to support the goals of the WCO Strategic Plan, as well as the key factors for enabling evidence- based technical assistance and capacity building. Delegates will also have an opportunity to discuss, among other important topics, progress with the capacity building aspects of the WCO Data Strategy and the Green Customs Action Plan, the mobilization of expertise, and gender equality and diversity.
