In the second half of 2012, the INCU (represented by the INCU Vice-president, Professor Michael Wolffgang) was appointed to the Supervisory Board of the GLOBIS (Global Integrated Supply Chain Security and Logistics Management) project conducted by the Hellenic Institute of Transport (HIT) of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). CERTH is a non-profit organisation that directly reports to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) of the Greek Ministry of Development.
The purpose of the appointment was to provide advice and oversee the development and operation of the Demos that are to be set up to demonstrate security of the supply chain enhancements.
The emphasis of GLOBIS project is placed on harmonization of procedures for customs and other authorities, as well as risk assessment and risk management processes in the global demonstrator corridors. So far, the GLOBIS proposal has been submitted to the relevant assessing bodies for determination. The final outcome of the proposal is expected in July 2013. We will update you of the progress, as appropriate.
