On 27 September 2017, INCU President and Head of School at the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES), Charles Sturt University, Australia visited South Africa and attended the South Africa Revenue Service (SARS) Graduation Ceremony that was held in Pretoria.
Eleven SARS officers graduated with various postgraduate academic qualifications including Graduate Certificates in Customs Administration, Graduate Certificates in International Customs Law and Administration, Graduate Diplomas in Customs Administration, Master of International Revenue Administration and Master of Customs Administration degrees.
At the graduation ceremony, Prof. David Widdowson emphasised the importance of higher education in Customs and congratulated graduates and their families. He also formally presented graduates with their testamurs.
The graduation was attended by senior SARS officials, international guests including a delegation from the Shanghai Customs College (SCC) as well as other representatives of academia and members of graduates’ families.
