In November 2014, Head of INCU Secretariat, Dr Mikhail Kashubsky, travelled to China on a teaching assignment and delivered a series of lectures on Environmental Taxation to postgraduate students at the Shanghai Customs College (SCC).
Mikhail also took the opportunity to introduce INCU to undergraduate and postgraduate students at SCC and held an information session where he explained the role of INCU in international customs research and education and updated students on INCU past and planned activities and initiatives.
Mikhail also met with President of SCC, Professor Jianguo Xiao, to discuss various academic activities, new courses and international cooperation including SCC role in the INCU.
SCC is a long-standing member of the INCU and an active participant of the WCO PICARD Programme. In fact, the first PICARD Conference that was held outside of the WCO headquarters was hosted by the SCC in May 2008.
