INCU Donates Journals to Shanghai Customs College Library

In March 2015, INCU Head of Secretariat, Dr Mikhail Kashubsky, travelled to China on an overseas research assignment. While in China, Dr Kashubsky took the opportunity to visit our colleagues at Shanghai Customs College (SCC).

The main purpose of the visit to SCC was to donate a full set of the World Customs Journals to the library of SCC.

Dr Kashubsky met with Head of SCC library and several other colleagues who provided a tour of the library to showcase new library facilities and collections.

SCC library is a state of the art facility covering an area of 7172 square metres and equipped with 3D printers, auditorium for high-level speeches and contains 659 seats for faculties and students, 630,000-plus hard copy books, 610,000-plus e-books, 1000-plus Chinese and foreign newspapers, magazines and journals and a variety of electronic databases.

The library has also set up a Customs Intelligence Center, which is designated to collect books, journals and other publications of the WCO, INCU, China Customs, and publications of foreign Customs administrations, as well as theses, dissertations and essays of students.

In appreciation of the donation, the INCU and Dr Kashubsky, were presented with Certificates of Honour, which state:

The precious Journals donated by your distinguished organisation have been incorporated into Library and will be open for readers soon. Your kind donation has greatly enriched our collection and will play an important role in talent nourishing and academic research. This Certificate represents our sincere gratitude.

The INCU is grateful to Shanghai Customs College for their continued cooperation and support of the organisation and its activities.
