INCU Affiliate Holds Workshop on Homeland Security Management in the Philippines

The Center for Information Convergence & Strategy (CICS) of San Diego State University which is an INCU Affiliate has conducted a three-day workshop on Homeland Security Management in the Philippines from 4 to 6 October 2016.

The event was held at the headquarters of Philippine National Police (PNP) in Quezon City. Attendees came from a range of backgrounds, including senior PNP officers, emergency response and disaster management professionals, intelligence analysts, and practitioners from the customs and trade sectors.

CICS Co-Director Mr. Akshay Pottathil lectured on various topics in homeland security and global security, while Mr. Andre Skupin focused on spatial intelligence and pattern recognition. CICS researcher and Philippines liaison and an INCU member, Mr Samuel Bautista, coordinated much of the workshop in addition to lecturing on issues related to customs management and global and regional trade.

The workshop was hosted by the Academy of Developmental Logistics and Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) with significant logistic supports from Donate.Philippines, an organization dedicated to the provision of a safe and reliable blood supply in the country.
