INCU Advisory Board Member and President of KGH Border Services, Mr Lars Karlsson, delivered a keynote address on trade security and compliance and moderated a panel at the World Free Zones Organization 4th Annual International Conference and Exhibition (AICE 2018), which took place from 30 April to 1 May 2018 in Dubai, UAE with the theme “Free Zone 10X – The Path to Prosperity”.
The two-day event attracted representatives and experts from the world’s free zones, associated entities and multi-lateral organizations from more than 71 countries.
Delegates engaged in robust and spirited discussions in panels and meetings to shape best practices and foster public awareness about the role and contribution to economic growth by free zones. The 2018 AICE also launched the Izdihar Prosperity Index and Free Zones Outlook Report.
A number of workshops and sessions led up to the main conference including the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) “Leaders of the Future” training program, “Investing in Prosperity: Free Zones and Sustainable Economic Development” workshop; “One Belt One Zone Alliance” workshop; and “Free Zones: Promoting and Protecting Legitimate Businesses” workshop.
It was announced that the World FZO’s 5th AICE will be held in Barcelona, Spain from 26 to 28 June 2019.
