We would like to congratulate INCU Honorary Fellow and Advisory Board Member, Lars Karlsson who, on 29 August 2016, was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Education by Charles Sturt University (CSU), Australia for his significant contribution to the public good through his outstanding input and influence in the professional practice of customs education and capacity building.
With a career spanning more than 30 years in customs and international trade policy, Dr Karlsson developed the world’s first partnership program between customs and the trading community, a program that’s now being adopted by more than 160 countries. He also founded the formal link between the WCO and academia, leading to the international accreditation of customs degree programs.
