Head of INCU Secretariat Participates in ESAMI Summer School in Mozambique

From 24 to 28 July 2017, Head of INCU Secretariat, Dr Mikhail Kashubsky, participated in the 2018 Summer School session of an INCU Affiliate, East and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), which was held at the Mozambique Customs Training Centre in Nacala, Mozambique and delivered a lecture on research methods and research projects in Customs.

The Summer School was taught by two Centre for Customs and Excise Studies (CCES) lecturers Mrs Julianah Munongi-Chikwanda and Mr Romano Manhique who delivered lectures on International Custom Law, Regulatory Compliance Management and Customs Reform and Modernisation. Some 17 students attended the Summer School including customs officers from Mozambique Customs, Kenyan Customs and students from the private sector who are all studying a WCO-accredited program – Master of Business Administration in Custom Management.

The Summer School program included a visit to Customs House in the port of Nacala where participants met customs personnel and observed Customs operations including risk management operations, single window operation, and container scanner terminal.
