On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee organised an international scientific-practical conference with theme: “The Role of Customs Regulation in the Economic Security in the Globalization Context”, which was held on 27 January 2012 at the Baku State University, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The State Customs Committee invited academics to participated in this conference.
The theme of the scientific-practical conference covered both economic and security aspects of customs regulation, including international cooperation and coordination of academic research and recommendations on functional activities of customs. The work of Conference consisted of plenary part and sessions, which covered the following topics:
- Customs policy as an integral part of foreign economic policy;
- The role of combatting offences in the field of foreign economic activity, in economic security; and
- The forms of customs regulations: tariff and non-tariff, and ways of their improvement.
Head of INCU Secretariat, Dr Mikhail Kashubsky, attended the conference and presented a paper on the topic of “Customs Regulation of Offshore Oil and Gas Installations”.
All the participants of the conference also attended the Official Celebration Ceremony of the 20th Anniversary of the State Customs Committee that was held in Baku on 30 January 2012.
