Invitation to Review – Draft Guide on Electronic Phytosanitary Certification Implementation

Dear INCU Members (and in particular those in the Asia and the Pacific region),

In support of the implementation of Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific (CPTA), and under the guidance of the Standing Committee of CPTA, a draft guide on cross-border electronic phytosanitary has been prepared.

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is inviting:

  • Government agencies in charge of ePhyto and customs authorities
  • Trade participants (exporters, importers, and shippers)
  • Technology providers and developers
  • Academics and researchers; and
  • Regional and international organizations with an interest in paperless trade

to review this draft Guide. While certain discussions and recommendations in the Guide are specifically tailored for the CPTA Parties, many of its insights and proposals are broadly applicable and relevant to countries around the world. Therefore, your feedback would greatly help in further improving this guide.

Further revised Guide, which is non-binding for the CPTA parties, will be submitted to the Standing Committee for finalization.

All the details such as the procedures for providing feedback and deadlines are available from: https://www.unescap.org/news/guide-electronic-phytosanitary-certification-implementation

Thanks.
